I’m Richard Häyrinen
a photographer based in Helsinki, and also a professional gamer known as WoodedMicrob. My life has always been split between two worlds that, strangely enough, complement each other.
With photography, I’m drawn to realness. I’m not interested in staged perfection. I want to catch the kind of moments you can’t fake — laughter that comes from deep inside, the quiet pause between people, the unpolished fragments of life that actually tell the story.
On the other side, gaming has been part of me for over a decade. I’ve played in tournaments watched by thousands, sometimes finding success, sometimes falling short. It’s not about chasing fame — it’s about pushing myself to the edge, where every decision matters.
These two worlds might look completely different, but they’ve taught me the same things: patience, resilience, and how to find focus in the middle of chaos. Behind the camera or in front of the screen, I’m chasing the same goal — to capture something that feels true.
